Brunei-born artist Huifong Ng’s solo exhibition, “Le Monde est un Jardin” (“The World is a Garden”), was inaugurated on February 4, 2025, at the Mairie du 3e Arrondissement de Lyon in France. The event attracted many art enthusiasts, cultural representatives, and dignitaries, including Yu Jiang, the General Consul of China in Lyon, who commended the exhibition for fostering cultural dialogue between China and France.


The exhibition featured 17 of Ng’s watercolor paintings, continuing her “The Garden Rhapsodies” series. The artworks predominantly depicted natural themes like flowers, fruits, and plants, showcasing the vibrancy and harmony of nature. A standout piece, “La Couronne d’Été” (“The Summer Crown”), captivated viewers with its rich colors and intricate details, exemplifying the artist’s skill and appreciation for the Mother Nature. The profound meaning conveyed by “La Pleine Lune des Fleurs” (“The Full Moon of Flowers”) was also deeply appreciated by the audience.
Ng expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to blend traditional culture with innovative ideas through her art, aiming to build bridges of friendship between Brunei, China, and France. She noted that the exhibition was well-received, with attendees particularly captivated by the depictions of tropical fruits, flowers, and plants, finding the poetic narratives both pleasant and heartwarming.

The exhibition was organized by the Association des Amitiés Franco-Chinoise (AAFC) and supported by the Mairie du 3e Arrondissement de Lyon. It remained open to the public until February 8, 2025, offering visitors a chance to immerse themselves in the serene and beautiful world portrayed through Ng’s paintings.
Huifong Ng, a painter, storyteller, poet, and linguist, specializes in oil painting, pastel on wood, and Chinese ink on rice paper. Her artistic journey has taken her across various countries, including Singapore, France, Italy, and China, where she has held exhibitions and workshops, sharing her passion for art and culture with diverse audiences.
In addition to her exhibition in Lyon, Ng has been actively involved in various cultural events. Notably, she presented a portrait painting to Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in 2016, to Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah in 2017, and to President Dr. José Ramos-Horta in 2023.
